This painting reflects my choice to paint instead of draw, which made the project a lot more enjoyable for me. I’m not very strong at drawing, so using paint felt easier and less stressful. It gave me more freedom to just go with my ideas instead of worrying about making everything look perfect. The piece is abstract, which I liked because it lets you be creative without having to follow strict rules. I didn’t have to make something realistic I could just put colors and shapes down and see what worked. I used bright colors like pink and green with a lot of black on top, which makes everything stand out. The paint is also pretty thick in some spots, which adds to the overall look and makes it feel more interesting.I also wasn’t in class the week we worked on this, so I did it at home. I got to experiment more and just enjoy the process.Overall, this has been one of my favorite projects I’ve done in a while. It was fun, different, and way more relaxed than drawing. I liked being able to just create freely and not overthink everything.
